Christian Foundations presents: ‘Guardians of a Promise: Tamar’s Story’

Celebrate with me!  After four years in production, this is my first ever published novel!  fireworks2

‘Guardians of the Promise: Tamar’s Story’.

In 1714 BC, a young country girl began the journey of her life.  She was given in marriage to the eldest son of Judah, to Erdad of the tribe of Abraham.  As she began this journey in fear and trembling, Tamar had little idea of the future she would find.

Remember, if you send me an email, I’ll send you a free chapter!

We want to welcome you to “Christian Foundations”, a blog especially designed to share the basics and the ‘beyond milk’ and how to enhance your spiritual journey.   Here’s a quick preview!

We are very passionate about this topic, partly because learning to hear from God and being a ‘Jesus Follower’ has changed what we think is important in life!

7/64 Deeper Cleansing as Sons and Daughters of God

We have been tracing the concept that we all come out of our own spiritual slavery to ‘Egypt’ when we chains7become Jesus Followers. We all begin messed up – we are not born perfect, Psalm 51:5.

  1. Everyone has a system of personal strongholds

As we have said in past posts, the vast majority of Christians come into God’s kingdom with worldly mindsets, ingrained bad habits, deep set judgements, biases, undealt with hurts, old forgiveness issues and other assorted heart stuff. These ‘fortified structures’ of false beliefs are what Paul refers to as ‘strongholds’.

7/63 How do I really Surrender my Heart to the Lord?

We all begin with unregenerate hearts

According to Scripture, the ‘unregenerate’ heart – the heart without God – is the seat of the Self-system, or the Old Nature. It is this fallen, self-centred, rebellious, corrupt heart that has led us astray, Jeremiah 17:9.

  1. The story of the two houses

heavy load2Before we came to Jesus, it’s like we lived in a different house. Its run down, cracks in the windows, the doors squeak but we are used to it.  Along comes Jesus and offers us ‘a new house’, a new life and we accept.

Book – Restoring the Christian Soul

Recently, someone recommended a great book they had been reading: ‘Restoring Restoring Soulthe Christian Soul’ by Leanne Payne. Here are some of the comments about the book.

There are three barriers keep us from being whole persons as we follow Jesus:

  1. The inability to receive forgiveness;
  2. The inability to forgive;
  3. The inability to accept ourselves

The author, Leanne Payne describes the value of self-acceptance and how Satan uses self-hatred to tempt us into believing his lies. This reinforces the need to watch our self-talk and renew the mind.

Seeing our Creator God as Father

As we continue to trace the healthy pattern in our growth as Jesus followers, seeing the depth of being adopted into His royal family expands. Here are two YouTube videos that further explore what it means to be adopted into His family.

James & Denise Jordan – Understanding The Role of the Father’s Love

Published on Jul 11, 2015, Ron Mainse speaks with James and Denise Jordan about the importance in all of our lives to come into a full experience of the love of God the Father.

We need Spiritual Fathers and Mothers in Christian Foundations

There is a cry in many people’s heart for someone to father or mother them. There are many spiritual orphans who son8have never had the opportunity to be loved into wholeness. Fatherlessness is a curse on a nation, and the result of that curse is wounded people, carrying an orphan spirit.

The pain in the lives of spiritual orphans empowers five lies:

  • The Rejection Lie – I must protect myself from others
  • The Fear Lie – I must hide myself from others
  • The Performance Lie – I must prove myself to others

How Healthy are your Father God Images?

son8Faith is the biblical response to the truth response to the truth, and believing what God says is a choice we all can make. If you say, “I wish I could believe God, but I just can’t.” you are being deceived.  Of course you can believe, God because what God says is always true,

Sometimes, we are greatly hindered from walking by faith in our Father God because of lies we have believed about Him. We are to have a healthy fear of God – awe of His holiness, power and presence – but we are not to be afraid of Him.
